BIOGRAPHY
Clarencia has never been someone who stands still. Driven by curiosity, creativity, and an independent spirit, she has spent her life exploring new ideas, places, and possibilities.
Independent, feminine, rebellious, ambitious, and unapologetically herself, Clarencia is a woman of contrasts. Strong, classy, adventurous, creative, and a little savage, she has never fit neatly into a single category.
Clarencia lived in Amsterdam from the age of 22 and has been residing in Ibiza since 2021. However, her heart remains true to her birthplace, The Hague. Born and raised in the heart of the city centre, she was fortunate enough to grow up above a petting zoo, enjoying the best of both worlds: the energy of city life and a connection to nature.
Her parents, always original, gave her three names: Rasha Sue-Ann Clarencia. Most friends simply call her Clarencia. Born under the Aquarius sign in the Year of the Dragon, she embodies the independence, creativity, and originality often associated with Aquarius, combined with the determination and leadership qualities of the Dragon.
As a child, Clarencia was both a girly girl and a tomboy. She loved Barbies, fashion, and dressing up, while also spending much of her time with her father, uncles, and the many male influences in her life. Her uncle introduced her to ADO Den Haag football matches when she was only six years old, while her stylish mother made sure she was always impeccably dressed in coordinated outfits and accessories.
During her teenage years, Clarencia struggled to find where she belonged. From an early age, she was different from many of her peers and often felt caught between multiple worlds. She expressed herself through fashion and creativity, yet also loved interests that were often considered unconventional for a young girl. One day she could be obsessed with fashion and beauty, while the next she would be looking through her telescope, fascinated by the stars and the mysteries of the universe. Her taste in music was equally diverse. She loved rock music, influenced by her father, but was just as drawn to house music, hip hop, and other genres. She enjoyed football, geeky interests, fashion, and alternative culture all at the same time, making it difficult to fit neatly into any particular group.
The transition to high school was especially challenging. During her first year, she experienced bullying and often felt like an outsider. At different stages of her youth she moved between being popular, rebellious, misunderstood, and searching for acceptance, never quite feeling as though she truly belonged anywhere.
Like many young people trying to discover who they are, Clarencia made mistakes, trusted the wrong people, and sometimes found herself surrounded by influences that did not bring out the best in her. Yet those experiences ultimately became valuable lessons. They taught her resilience, independence, and the courage to embrace what made her different rather than hide it.
Looking back, the qualities that once made her feel out of place would later become some of her greatest strengths.
Clarencia's independent journey began at the age of sixteen, when she started living on her own.
With little more than a room, a mattress, and a broken television she had picked up from the street, she entered adulthood far earlier than most people. Life was not easy. There were periods when money was so scarce that she genuinely struggled to afford food. While many teenagers were focused on school, social lives, and future plans, she was learning how to survive, support herself, and navigate the realities of independence.
Those years were marked by uncertainty, setbacks, and difficult decisions. Yet they also taught her resilience, resourcefulness, and determination. Every small achievement was earned, and every step forward came through persistence rather than privilege.
This determination was also reflected in her professional life. While most seventeen-year-olds were working behind supermarket counters, Clarencia was honing her skills as a piercer in a tattoo shop. She later worked with exclusive fashion and lingerie brands, developing a strong sense of style and a fascination with luxury, aesthetics, and personal expression.
At a young age, she became a retail store manager, taking on significant responsibility long before most of her peers. By the age of twenty-three, she launched her first business venture: a red velvet gentleman's club featuring cigars, luxury surroundings, and entertainment.
For more than a decade, Clarencia has worked in front of the camera. What began as modelling gradually evolved into a much deeper connection with the world of art. Over the years, she became a muse for artists and photographers, with works featuring her image exhibited in galleries around the world.
She has quite a life story. Above all, she survived a devastating car accident that continues to shape her life today.
At the age of 27, Clarencia was involved in a head-on collision with a truck, resulting in multiple surgeries, chronic nerve damage, and a dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system known as dysautonomia. The years that followed were some of the most difficult of her life. For a long period, she was unable to walk independently and relied on crutches and a wheelchair. Simple daily tasks became challenges, and the active, adventurous life she had always known seemed suddenly out of reach.
The prognosis was devastating. A neurologist told her that her normal life was over and that she would likely remain dependent on others for the rest of her life, unable to work, travel, or even manage everyday activities on her own.
Clarencia refused to accept that future.
Determined to find a way forward, she dedicated herself entirely to recovery. She changed her diet, spent over a year and a half in rehabilitation programs, practiced breathwork, explored alternative therapies, and devoted nearly two years of her life to rebuilding her body and nervous system. While many people her age were building careers, travelling, and creating memories, Clarencia was fighting to regain her independence.
The accident cost her years of her young adulthood and forced her to miss opportunities she had worked hard for, including art photography projects with renowned artists such as Marc Lagrange. Yet despite the setbacks, she never stopped believing that there was a path forward.
Then, in a move that perfectly reflects her fearless character, she booked a one-way ticket to Ibiza, travelling with her crutches and little more than determination and hope. For Clarencia, it was not simply a move to a new island; it was a declaration that she would not allow an accident, a diagnosis, or anyone else's expectations to define the rest of her life.
The quote that carried her through this period became her personal philosophy:
"Don't let anything hold you back."
Clarencia's journey is a testament to her fearless spirit and unwavering commitment to following her passions. Whether rebuilding her life after a devastating accident, launching new ventures, moving countries, or embracing unexpected opportunities, she has always chosen action over fear and adventure over comfort.
Her eclectic taste in music reflects her multifaceted personality. From Rock and 80s love songs to R&B, Jazz, Hip Hop, House, and Latin sounds, music has always played an important role in her life. It serves as both an escape and a source of inspiration, accompanying her through every chapter of her journey.
A lover of literature from an early age, Clarencia has always found inspiration in books and poetry. While music speaks to her emotions, literature feeds her curiosity. Fascinated by stories, philosophy, history, spirituality, and the complexity of human nature, she is constantly searching for new perspectives and ideas. This passion for the written word has become an important part of her identity and creative world. Through books, poetry, and storytelling, she continues to explore the questions, experiences, and mysteries that make life so endlessly fascinating.
In addition to her love for music and literature, Clarencia enjoys yoga, meditation, hiking, fine dining and going to concerts. Equally at home, at a glamorous event as she is curled up with a book, she embraces both the excitement and the quieter moments of life.
Clarencia values meaningful connections and the people closest to her. She loves spending time with family and friends and is often the one bringing people together for life's special moments. Known among her loved ones as an enthusiastic organizer, she enjoys planning celebrations, gatherings, and memorable occasions, believing that some of life's greatest treasures are the moments shared with others. One of the things she treasures most is the close bond she shares with her young parents, who often join her adventures and celebrations. Her mother is her everyday best friend—the person she calls first, whether she has something exciting to share, needs a second opinion, or simply wants to chat.
Clarencia is an avid traveller with an adventurous spirit and an endless curiosity for the world. While she appreciates beautiful cities such as Paris, Milan, London Prague, and party destinations like Las Vegas, she is equally drawn to experiences that take her beyond the ordinary. Iceland remains one of the destinations that left the greatest impression on her. Its dramatic landscapes, untouched nature, and sense of raw freedom resonated deeply with her love for exploration and adventure.
Adventure has always played a major role in her life. One of her most memorable journeys was converting her Jeep Wrangler into a camper and setting off on road trips across Europe, embracing the freedom of life on the road. Sleeping under the stars, chasing sunsets, taking the scenic route, and discovering places far from the tourist crowds perfectly reflect her personality.
Whether it's booking a one-way ticket to a new chapter in life, driving across countries with no fixed plan, exploring remote landscapes, or saying "yes" to experiences most people would never dare to try, Clarencia has always believed that the greatest stories begin where comfort zones end.
She has always vowed never to conform to a conventional life. From an early age, she knew that a traditional 9-to-5 routine was never going to be enough. The idea of repeating the same day over and over felt limiting compared to a life filled with creativity, entrepreneurship, travel, personal growth, and adventure. That desire for freedom became the driving force behind every major decision she has made.
From living independently at sixteen with little more than a mattress and a broken television, to building businesses, becoming a muse for artists, surviving a life-changing accident, rebuilding herself from the ground up, and eventually boarding a one-way flight to Ibiza with her travelling crutches, Clarencia has never chosen the easy road. She has chosen the interesting one.
Today, she continues to create, explore, write, travel, learn, and follow her curiosity wherever it may lead. For Clarencia, life has never been about fitting into expectations—it has been about experiencing as much of the world as possible and creating a story worth telling.
And if there is one phrase that perfectly captures her life, it is the one so often repeated by the people around her:
"Never a dull moment."
